There’s no question that Kaka’ has been one of the world’s best players over the past 10 or 15 years. The former AC Milan star might not be at the peak of his level, but he’s still one of the most dominant playmakers in the world when everything clicks for him.
Last week was one of those nights for the Brazilian starlet. He made his first start of the 2016 MLS Season against the Portland Timbers, and he certainly made his presence felt. Kaka’ scored a goal and delivered two assists for his side in a convincing 4-1 win over the reigning MLS Cup champions.

The Brazilian star was all over the place in Orlando’s convincing win and he assisted on the first goal with an accurate set-piece cross, and later delivered another key pass that resulted in Brek Shea’s wonderful strike to make it 2-0. Kaka’, however, was far from over, and he found the back of the net with a finesse shot early in the second half to make it 3-0.
One could say Kaka is back, the reality is that he still needs a few more games to increase his match fitness. His natural talent allows him to be a dominant player even if he’s not 100% fit, but it’s certainly tempting to think how dominant he could be if he keeps this up for a few more weeks.
Orlando City SC might not be considered among the favorites to win the MLS Cup, but they can’t be taken for granted with a talented attacking line that include players like Kaka’, Cyle Larin and Carlos Rivas. They have eight points in four matches, and they are currently leading the Western Conference standings and all signs point toward them being a difficult matchup for any MLS side.
As long as Kaka’ is running the show for them, it seems the sky is the limit for Orlando. The Brazilian, on the other, continues to show he has plenty left in the tank and he has enough talent to be a complete difference-maker in the final third for The Lions.
