Al Horford Tells the Truth: NBA Playoff Recap for May 13

Paul Pierce thought he had sealed the series (and told the Hawks bench so) after hitting another late-game shot to give the Wizards the lead. Al Horford beat him out on the other end of the court, though, and in a hustle play was able to score to give the Hawks the last-second win and the 3-2 series lead. Later, the Warriors returned to their regular season form and gained a convincing win over the Grizzlies to put Memphis on the break of elimination.

The game started out close and the Wizards dominated in the second quarter. The third quarter was owned by the Hawks while the fourth quarter was nearly even with a last second play being the difference for the Hawks. Washington shot a mere 37.5% from the field. Atlanta was led by Al Horford with 23 points, 11 rebounds, DeMarre Carroll with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and Mike Muscala with 8 points. The Wizards were led by Marcin Gortat with 14 points, and Bradley Beal with 23 points.

The game started out close and the Grizzlies were outscored in the second quarter. The third quarter was owned by the Warriors while the fourth quarter was nearly even and the Warriors coasted to the win. Memphis shot a mere 39.8% from the field. Golden State was led by Stephen Curry with 18 points, 6 steals, Klay Thompson with 21 points, and Andre Iguodala with 16 points. The Grizzlies were led by Marc Gasol with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and Mike Conley with 13 points.
