Alexis Sanchez is only a physical exam away from joining Manchester United.
The Chilean star winger will likely become the latest Red Devils’ signing over the next few days. But that move won’t be easy, as he will carry one of the most iconic shirts in soccer world: United’s n°7. The same one that George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, among others, wore in the past.
One could imagine the Chilean might struggle to play for United. After all, it’s one thing to defend Arsenal, and another completely different one is to play for The Red Devils. But Alexis is more than ready for the challenge. He’s a hard-working, talented player who has never had problems to settle anywhere.
Let’s not forget we are talking about a player who jumped from Colo Colo (Chile’s biggest team) to River Plate (one of the top teams in South America and a worldwide known side) and did this:
After playing for River, he moved to Udinese and while he took time to settle in the Serie A, in the end, he became one of the best forwards in the league. He eventually scored four goals in just one match:

Then, Sanchez moved to FC Barcelona and lived some of the best moments of his career there. He played under the shadow of Lionel Messi during most of his tenure. However, he left a few gems to be remembered, especially this goal against Real Madrid:

Last but not least, we have his tenure at Arsenal. His game jumped to a whole new level playing for The Gunners, and he is coming off some great years at Emirates Stadium. But his tenure was always hampered by the fact that the team was summoned into mediocrity. Sanchez had reached his ceiling playing for Arsenal, and he is ready for a new challenge.

Alexis has proved he can play anywhere in the world. And while featuring for United is not going to be easy, he should be up to the challenge. His career speaks for itself.
