At almost 42 years of age, Bartolo Colon is still crushing it in the majors. He boasts a 6-1 record and a 3.30 ERA (.64 points lower than his career average). But Bartolo’s continued pitching prowess is not the only reason to love him. As Bartolo walks through the world, he gives you the impression that the Jack Benny song should be following him along. Take a look below for some of the very best of Bartolo.
Bartolo always gives 110%
Never content to limit himself to a single highlight, Bartolo Colon takes this at-bat and turns it into pure gold. After nearly losing his helmet two swings prior, Colon finally makes contact with the ball. His hustle to first was non-existent – perhaps due to the bat he took with him on his way over.
Bartolo has the strength of a giant
Bartolo Colon swings with the force of a thousand winds. Unfortunately his ability to make contact with the ball is far weaker than that swing. In this instance, he whips around so hard that he knocks the helmet right off his head. And to add even greater joy, he then manages to smack the helmet with his bat. He definitely should have gotten a ground rule double for that gem.
Bartolo is comfortable in his own skin
Bartolo has the body confidence we all strive for. Watch as he proudly displays a little extra belly. You can definitely see how impressed everyone else is.
Bartolo has the joy and excitement of a child
In this clip, Bartolo can not contain his excitement as he goes to hug friend Robinson Cano at the Home Run Derby. Unfortunately, Colon does not notice a small child in his rush to hug Robbie and slaps the poor kid right upside the head.
Bartolo makes a spectacular spokesman
Then there was that time Bartolo Colon accidentally one-upped the Taco Bell Chihuahua to make the world’s most perfect Taco Bell spokesman.

Just like us, sometimes Bartolo is over it
Bartolo knows when it isn’t his day. He throws up a bunt on a 2 strike count. He seems to head back to the dugout before the umpire even calls it.
But Bartolo never ever gives up
After an unbelievably long 9 year drought, Bartolo finally manages to get a hit. This beautiful double proves to everyone everywhere that if you can dream it, you can do it.
