The Warriors Control the Pace: NBA Recap for Mar 27

The matchup of the night pitted the Golden State Warriors agains the Memphis Grizzlies. This #1 seed versus #2 was a rematch of a game from this winter in which the Grizzlies pounded the ball to victory, slowing the tempo and exploiting the Warriors’ lack of height. Tonight was a different story, though, as the Warriors controlled the tempo and were able to dispatch the Grizzlies with ease in what could be a late-round playoff preview.

Washington jumped out to the early lead in the first quarter and it was a tight second quarter. The Hornets outscored Washington in the third while the fourth quarter was nearly even. The first overtime did not decide the winner, but Washington got the win in the second overtime period. Washington shot a mere 38.9% from the field while Charlotte shot a equally bad 38.9% from the field but won the rebounding battle handily, 72 to 61. Washington was led by Drew Gooden with 15 points, 17 rebounds, John Wall with 32 points, 9 rebounds, and Marcin Gortat with 8 points, 16 rebounds. The Hornets were led by Al Jefferson with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and Mo Williams with 26 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists.

Philadelphia ran out in the first and the Clippers were again outscored in the second quarter. The Clippers outscored Philadelphia in the third while the fourth quarter was nearly even but the Clipper lead was too much. Surprisingly, Philadelphia won the rebounding battle handily, 56 to 40, while the Clippers dominated with 56 assists. Los Angeles was led by Chris Paul with 25 points, DeAndre Jordan with 17 points, 20 rebounds, and Matt Barnes with 15 points. The 76ers were led by Nerlens Noel with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and Ish Smith with 18 points, 9 assists.

The game started out close and it was a tight second quarter. The Pistons outscored Orlando in the third while the fourth quarter was nearly even resulting in a Pistons win. Detroit held on to the ball much better, giving away only 18 turnovers to 7 for Orlando. The game started out close and the Celtics dominated in the second quarter. The second half started out close while the fourth quarter was nearly even and the Celtics squeaked out the win. The Knicks were led by Andrea Bargnani with 25 points, and Langston Galloway with 12 points.
