With only two games on the docket for Thursday, it wasn’t so much a let down of action as it was a doubling of the fun. In an East-West powerhouse battle, the King prevailed and an overtime thriller headlined the nightcap.

LeBron James scored 42 points as the Cavaliers cruised to their 18th win in the last 20 games. It was James’ season high point total and he also grabbed 11 rebounds in Cleveland’s 11th straight win at Quicken Loans Arena. Steph Curry, the Warrior’s star player, returned to action after missing Wednesday’s game and scored 18 points, but committed four turnovers. David Lee came off the bench to score 19 points for Golden State. The Warriors dished out 32 assists as a team, compared to just 15 by the Cavaliers. Eleven of the 12 players that played for the Warriors recorded at least one assist, with Curry leading with six. James and J.R. Smith each had five assists for Cleveland.

The Suns outscored the Thunder, 8-4, in the overtime period to snap Oklahoma City’s seven-game winning streak. Russell Westbrook earned his 12th career triple-double, and second this week, scoring 39 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists in the Thunder’s losing effort. Every Suns starter scored in double figures, led by 29 points from Markieff Morris and 28 points from Eric Bledsoe. Morris and Alex Len each had 11 rebounds for Phoenix. Bledsoe had four blocks.
